Could we have a few hours of your time on Saturday morning?
500 Signatures Needed by Tuesday:
A Few Hours This Weekend Could Make the Difference in November.
Right now, there may be nothing we can do locally that will have a bigger impact in November than helping Jon Lipe secure an independent ballot line.
Jon and dozens of volunteers have spent the month knocking on doors, talking with voters, and gathering signatures from Democrats, Republicans, and independents. But with the filing deadline just days away, the campaign still needs 500 more signatures to reach the 2,000 needed by the end of the day Tuesday, May 26th.
Why does this matter? In 2024, this independent ballot line brought in 1,100 votes for Marianne Buttenschon — more than her margin of victory. Securing this line could genuinely make the difference between winning and losing in November.
That means this weekend matters.
IMV is helping with a major signature push on Saturday, May 23rd, and we need volunteers in both Rome and Utica. The goal: 25 volunteers collecting 20 signatures each.
We are meeting at the following locations. RSVP so we know you are coming along!
ROME
Saturday, May 23rd at 10:00am
Jervis Library, 613 N. Washington Street, Rome
RSVP on Facebook
UTICA
Saturday, May 23rd at 10:00am

RSVP on Facebook
Never collected signatures before?
No problem.
Walk lists, petitions, and support will be ready to go. We just need a few hours of your time.
If you can help this weekend, please show up. A relatively small effort now could have an outsized impact in November!

Take Action to Block Runaway ICE Funding
1. For activists in NY21 (Rep. Stefanik):
Congress is back in session, so it’s time to call your Republican representative, Elise Stefanik, if you live in NY21, TODAY to demand that she rejects $70 billion in funding for ICE and Border Patrol. Republicans officially unveiled their reconciliation bill last week, which includes these slush funds for Trump’s mass deportation machine and $1 billion for his gaudy ballroom. Some Republicans are already wavering, so let’s keep up the pressure. Yes, Elise is not going to back down, but she needs to know that support for the Trump agenda is going slack, even in her red district.
2. For everyone:
Send a message to Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand, (and if you live in NY22, Rep. John Mannion). We need you to keep up the drumbeat of opposition to $70 billion in ICE funding, too. Now that Congress is back in session, we need to see Democrats using every tactic and tool possible to block, obstruct, and turn public opinion against this bill.
