Fight The Trump Takeover Rally Tomorrow
Fight the Trump Takeover Rally
Trump is trying to steal the 2026 election by rigging the system and changing electoral maps. He started in Texas, but he won’t stop there. He’s targeting Missouri, Ohio, Florida and every state he can twist to help him steal Congress. Texas House Democrats are blocking a redistricting vote in the Texas House right now to Stop the Trump Takeover. Across the country, people like us are mobilizing on Saturday, August 16th to support them.
Join Concerned Citizens of Rome and Indivisible Mohawk Valley as we participate in a national day of action to support Texas Democrats and stop the Trump Takeover of our country.

One Million Rising WOW!
We hope that you were on the huge national call last night because it covered some exciting actions we can each take. Some quick numbers to inspire you:
250,000+ people have been skilled up and are ready to take action.
1300+ community resistance gatherings have taken place.
400+ more gatherings are scheduled.
That’s what we have achieved together so far -- and this is just the beginning. As Chair Gene Wu of the Texas State Legislature said on last night’s call:
“It’s fine that people are waking up late. It’s fine that people didn’t get it until now. It’s fine that people didn’t see it until now. But the real question is: Can we change it?”
Your gatherings, your social media posts, your dedication to showing up for One Million Rising trainings or watching the recordings later is proving that we can! And now, together, we’ll take the next step. Last night’s third call focused on what each and every one of us can do to participate in this resistance, utilizing the tactics of strategic non-cooperation. In case you missed it, you can watch the video of last night’s call here.

Join the Fight Against Trump’s Redistricting Coup:
August 16 Day of Action
There's more info on these below, because we think these are things we can all get involved in, and there are toolkits to help us do it!
Campaign #1 Signs of Solidarity (Talk to Small Businesses)
We’ve seen that the Trump administration is deploying ICE, in record numbers, deep into the heart of our cities, towns, and neighborhoods to spread fear and rip apart communities.
From hardworking immigrants just trying to provide for their children to American citizens too Brown for their liking, masked ICE agents are snatching people out of their workplaces, their court hearings, and even their homes with no regard for the impact on these people or their families. We need to stand up for their rights and show that immigrants are vital, welcome parts of our communities.
For our first call to action, we’re asking you to visit local businesses and ask them to put up signs of solidarity that show their support for their immigrant neighbors, while also making sure they have designated private areas for employees that ICE can’t enter without a signed judicial warrant. We live in small cities and small towns in the Mohawk Valley. We all know and patronize small businesses. This is something we can do. Please take the first step by signing up. You'll get practical useful scripts and the posters you can print out to take to businesses in your neighborhood where you eat, shop, or use services. Sign up for Signs of Solidarity today.
Campaign #2 Ground Avelo
Most people have never heard of Avelo (rhymes with “hello”) Airlines. It’s a smaller company that became the first commercial airline in the US to sign a deportation charter contract with ICE. Yes, that means Avelo Airlines is in the business of deporting people for profit.
Groups across the country have been working to amplify how Avelo is profiteering off of the ripping apart of families with no guarantee of due process. Those groups have been doing incredible work to amplify the visibility of Avelo’s complicity, and it’s beginning to show: Avelo has made the decision to pull out of the West Coast after protests about their connection to deportations. Help us turn up the heat on Avelo nationally. Even though Avelo is not in our region, there are still things we can do, so take action to ground Avelo.
Campaign #3 Fight Trump's Redistricting Coup
You already saw above that the most pressing action item on this campaign is to show up for a rally in Rome tomorrow. But we are going to need continued and focused opposition work to undermine Trump’s ability to consolidate congressional power all across the country. It's going to involve keeping the pressure on our Democratic Governor and state legislators to do redistricting in New York and protect voter rights in New York. So whether or not you can attend the rally tomorrow, check out the Stop Trump's Redistricting Coup toolkit for details here.
