Knock doors with Rep. John Mannion on Sunday
Rep. Mannion will join volunteers for the 1:00 p.m. canvass launch on Sunday, September 27 at the NY22 Campaign HQ, 1 Hopper Street in Utica. Volunteers will get a quick training and can pair up before heading out.
Regular canvassing is also available in both Utica and Rome throughout the weekend.
IMV October Meeting: Get Ready for Early Voting
We’re meeting in person one more time before the 2026 midterm election to get ready for the final stretch.
Wednesday, October 7, 6:00–7:30 p.m.

We’ll be doing hands-on preparation for Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts, including practicing voter conversations, writing postcards for NY21 and NY22, and making signs and materials for No Kings 4: Vote Early events on October 17. There will also be time to connect, socialize, and decide what you want to do next.

❌👑No Kings 4: Vote Early!
Saturday, October 17
No Kings: Vote Early is a nationwide day of nonpartisan voter participation focused on helping people make a voting plan, register to vote, and prepare to protect their vote.
This week we have local details:
Rome — 12:00–1:30 p.m., Fort Stanwix
A sidewalk honk-and-wave with “Vote Early” and “Make Your Voice Heard” signs, plus voter-registration information and a large Commit to Vote Early board. Volunteers are needed; email IMV@IndivisibleMV.org if you can help.
Utica — 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., Proctor Park
Participants will form a large “VOTE EARLY” message on the grass, with aerial photos and video taken by drone for social media.
Herkimer will also have a No Kings: Vote Early event later that afternoon. The sign-up link is still coming.

Volunteer at the Utica or Rome Campaign Office
Volunteers are needed at both the Utica and Rome Democratic campaign offices during regular office hours. When volunteers staff the offices, paid campaign staff are free to knock doors and do other campaign work.
Office volunteers may:
✅Answer phones
✅Prepare mailings and canvassing materials
✅Greet and sign in walk-in volunteers
✅Help keep the offices open as many hours as possible

🌝What are Voter Education Slate Cards?
Along with candidate lawn signs, voter education slate cards are available at the NY21 Rome Campaign office and at the NY22 office in Utica. Leave them at every door, even when no one is home. No matter where you are talking to voters in Oneida County, these cards will help you with information about candidates and early voting. When you are out knocking doors, you are encouraging people to:
Vote early Oct. 24-Nov. 1
Make a plan for voting and discuss voting with friends and family
Request a ballot now via the Board of Elections if voting by mail is their best option
Understand and vote on the whole ballot from the top of the ticket on down
Congressman Jamie Raskin & John Mannion — Live and In Person!
Jamie Raskin, the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee and a former lead impeachment manager, will join Congressman John Mannion for an in-person midterm discussion in Cazenovia.

Honor National Coming Out Day by joining the Rome LGBTQIA+ Rights Rally on Saturday, October 10, from 12:00–1:30 p.m. at Fort Stanwix.
The rally is organized by the Oneida County Pride Alliance and Rome Concerned Citizens, with Indivisible Mohawk Valley as a co-sponsor.

🍀Call Governor Hochul to Get Plug In/Balcony Solar Across the Finish Line
The NYS Assembly passed, and the NYS Senate unanimously passed, the SUNNY Act to make plug-in/balcony solar easily accessible for New Yorkers. Click here to learn about the SUNNY Act.
Now we wait for Governor Hochul to sign the bill. She may keep us in suspense until as late as December 31st.
Until then, we need to keep the bill in front of her and show her the growing number of people who support SUNNY. Plug-in solar is an easy way to curtail our electric bills. And NJ and CT now have plug-in solar laws; we should too!
Please join this effort by calling Governor Hochul on September 25, even if you have called before. Volume counts!

Sample script: Hi, my name is __________ and I live in __________. I’m calling because I am excited about the SUNNY Act for plug-in solar. I’m calling to urge Governor Hochul to sign the SUNNY Act. It is a simple first step toward reducing utility bills. By signing the SUNNY Act, Gov. Hochul can give New Yorkers access to portable solar panels to lower utility costs and emissions. Let New Yorkers have the same benefits their neighbors in Connecticut and New Jersey enjoy.

IMV to Be Honored at NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner
Indivisible Mohawk Valley has been named a Community Honoree by the NAACP Oneida County Branch and will be recognized at its 2026 Annual Freedom Fund Dinner on Sunday, November 1st.
Our longtime social justice and political activism ally, Citizen Action of CNY, is the other Community Honoree. IMV activist and artist Teresa Van Etten is one of the individual honorees, along with Rev. Sharon Baugh, who spoke at our 2025 Good Trouble Lives On event.

Early-bird tickets are available through October 1st and are $70 for adults and $50 for youth. After October 1st, prices increase to $75 for adults and $55 for youth. Ticket prices include admission to the dinner and a one-year NAACP membership. Current NAACP lifetime members may purchase tickets for $50.
