Locally, we are working in alliance with CNY Citizen Action and Mohawk Valley Latino Association on Thursday, May 1st. We will host a rally at Oneida Square at 5:00 pm. Toward the end of the rally we will march on the sidewalk a couple blocks to DeSales Center where Citizen Action is hosting a Celebration of community unity and worker rights. Donald Trump and his MAGA minions are trying to destroy the economy for working people, take away our hard earned dollars and benefits and fire the workers who provide them (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, VA, hospitals, schools, post office, national parks, and much more). They are coming for immigrants and refugees, trying to tear apart our communities by turning us against each other, and making every one of us fear for our rights to due process, to speak freely, to assemble, to organize.

Bring SIGNS in support of workers, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, immigrant and civil rights, and against the looting of public lands and goods by Trump-Musk. They are attacking our libraries, our schools, our labor unions, our federal workforce, destroying the economy with tariffs, and stealing our personal data. Creative signs with the day!

Paper products (cups, plates, bowls, plasticware)
Cereal, pasta, canned fruit and veggies, spaghetti sauce, canned meats, oranges, bananas
Snacks like granola bars, cheese crackers, cookies
Coffee, Powdered drink mixes
First Aid items, tampons
Blankets, socks, underwear
Oneida Square has been gracious host to us many times as we rallied and protested and in return, we want to show them some support. The church serves meals and hands out supplies and snacks to unhoused people in the neighborhood. They need volunteers and monetary donations as well. We will rally and then march down the sidewalk to DeSales Center (309 Genesee Street) to join the Celebration of Community Unity and Worker Rights hosted by Citizen Action (and co-hosted by IMV and Mohawk Valley Latino Association) where there will be speakers and music. Please register separately for the 6:30 pm celebration event if you can join us! The event at DeSales will have free food for dinner, so join the rally and then enjoy dinner at the celebration.
Trump and his billionaire profiteers are trying to create a race to the bottom—on wages, on benefits, on dignity itself. This May Day we are fighting back. We are demanding a country that puts our families over their fortunes—public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, prosperity over free market politics.
