Now Is the Time to Turn Out Voters
Final push to the primaries - Early voting starts tomorrow!
On this week’s Indivisible national call, organizers emphasized that early votes and mail ballots can decide close elections. Election Day is not the beginning of voting. It is the end of the voting period. Our job now is to help voters make a plan, whether that means voting early in person, requesting a mail ballot, or showing up on Primary day.
That is why we are knocking doors this Sunday.
Huge IMV No Kings Anniversary Canvass for Jon Lipe and Blake Gendebien

It is critical to remember that rallies are important for mobilization, but organized direct voter contact wins elections. And we need to start winning more elections if we want to turn back from the brink of the authoritarian cliff.

No Kings Anniversary Canvass for Jon Lipe and Blake Gendebien
Sunday, June 14, 1:00 p.m.
Three Fellows Inn, 600 N. George Street, Rome
Join IMV in Rome for a major Get Out the Vote canvass in support of Jon Lipe for Assembly and Blake Gendebien for Congress! This is happening during Early Voting so we need to talk to as many registered Democrats at their doors as we possibly can.
While Trump hosts his birthday MMA spectacle, we will be taking action to make people’s lives better by electing representatives who will do their jobs with integrity and share our values. You do not need to be an experienced canvasser! We are asking everyone to pair up at the event and commit to door knocking for just a couple of hours. It’s easy — just asking high-propensity Democrats to vote for our friends Jon Lipe and Blake Gendebien on or before June 23, using hot-off-the-press primary election palm cards with Oneida County Early Voting information.
If knocking doors is not physically possible for you, can you drive a canvasser? If you cannot knock or drive, can you bring food for the canvass launch?
Sign up right now. Convince a friend to join you! Or show up and get paired with an experienced canvasser.

Want to know more about Jon Lipe? Check out his webpage, and these short clips of him in debates this past week talking about the importance of refugee settlement in Utica (and calling out Trump’s bans), and his top priority for the state assembly when he’s elected–health care. You can also see him interviewed at Oneida County Pride Fest.

Rise Up, Sing Out: Choose Joy Over Trump’s Birthday Spectacle
On June 14, 7:30 PM (EST), the Committee for the First Amendment will be hosting Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment, an uplifting evening of song, solidarity, and action. Featuring an all-star line-up of performers, this 90-minute concert event will celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by our First Amendment—of speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest—and the people power that both fuels these rights and is essential to guarantee them.
Even as authoritarians increase their attacks on our freedoms and communities, we see examples across the country of people rising up together, taking action, and turning back those forces.
The event will be streamed with watch parties all across the country—so wherever you are, you can sing along, find inspiration in the performances, build community, and take meaningful action together.

What’s Up with the AI Data Center in Ilion?
Across the country, local Indivisible groups have been active with many others organizing against AI data centers. Communities push back against AI data centers frequently due to their massive resource demands especially on water and electricity, environmental footprint, and disproportionate strain on local infrastructure. Instead of functioning as traditional economic engines, they act as resource-ravenous facilities that often drive up living costs while delivering very few long-term jobs.
In Ilion, there is an additional challenge: lack of transparency by local municipalities and agencies including the local IDA (Industrial Development Agency). There was only one public hearing. It was held in May with three people in attendance and no audio with the recording. Some people are initiating requests under the Freedom of Information Act and calling officials. Others are hosting rallies. IMV will share information we have about rallies, protests, and other actions that are public and welcome active, peaceful democratic participation.
Wednesday, June 17th, 4:30 pm, No AI Data Center in Ilion! Peaceful Rally-It Takes a Village,49 Morgan Street. Ilion. While no proposals for a Data Center have been formally submitted to the village board, the known risk factors and harm cause valid concerns among residents. This massive infrastructure would permanently shape the future of our village, and it is up to us to take proactive measures now.
Saturday, June 27th, 12:00-1:30 pm, Say No to AI Data Center in Ilion,14 Hoefler Ave, Ilion. This rally is organized by Carson Murphy. Say no to the proposed AI data center coming into the former Remington Arms factory building in Ilion, NY, which is now owned by Turin Management LLC since late 2024. This is a peaceful protest.

Calls to Congress
Please take a few minutes to contact your members of Congress about the conditions at the Delaney Hall detention facility in Newark, NJ!
Solidarity with Hunger Strikers: Demand Congressional Action Against Trump’s Mass Detention Machine. Congress cannot look away. They must use every lever of power they have to demand dignity for immigrants and be in solidarity with the people in detention on hunger strike. This moment requires active escalation. Send emails to your three members of Congress right now.
