Last year, IMV members showed up in big numbers for Oneida County Pride Alliance’s Trans Rights Rally in honor of International Transgender Day of Visibility. Rally to Resist ICE Fascism at the Batavia Detention Center
Saturday, Dec. 20th, 1-3 pm. Rally to Resist ICE Fascism at the Batavia Detention Center (Sharing from CNY Solidarity). This rally is hosted by Bill Schubert of PeoplesActionRochester. He has rallied at this Federal detention center before with no issues. The facility’s security personnel have been friendly and the 70 or so ralliers have been peaceful and well behaved. This is a peaceful demonstration, and involves travel outside the Mohawk Valley. However, a number of our local neighbors who have been taken by ICE are at the federal detention facility in Batavia.

Join Oneida County Pride Alliance, Concerned Citizens of Rome and IMV for a special rally in support of LGBTQ+ rights. LGBTQ+ rights are under attack across the country. As we honor Intersex and Transgender Days of Remembrance, we also need to make it known that Oneida County stands for all our rights. Bring trans and pride flags as well as signs for LGBTQ+ rights.. Other signs protesting Republican assaults on rights and Trump authoritarianism also welcome at this weekly rally.

One core responsibility of the Minority Leader is to keep the party’s senators aligned around strategy and messaging. And yet Chuck couldn’t keep eight senators from defecting. Stand in solidarity with immigrant families and demand an end to the detention and deportation of nonviolent, law-abiding community members.
