Tuesday, May 14th, 6:00 pm, Phone Bank for Colt Brumm for HP School Board, Join IMV members for a virtual phone bank to call voters in the Holland Patent school district to ask them to vote for school board candidate Colt Brumm! You'll need a phone plus a laptop or computer. We'll have a google spreadsheet with lists of voters on each tab. You'll be assigned 1 tab of 30 voters to call. We'll do a training at the beginning, assign out tabs, and then everyone goes on mute to make their calls. We'll take a break halfway through to check-in and then continue calling until about 7:30pm. All experience levels are welcome!

Tuesday, May 21st, 12-1 pm, New York LTE Workshop on the IRA, Do you love writing letters to the editor or are willing to give it a try? This new monthly letter to the editor workshop series will feature an expert guest speaker on a topic that is relevant in this year's election cycle in New York. Come learn more about the topic including what language to use and avoid. Then we'll learn about best practices for writing an effective LTE before giving people time to get started. On May 21st, we're learning about the Inflation Reduction Act from Trisha Maharaj from Indivisible's Policy Team. More people need to learn about this tremendous, historic piece of legislation. 1199SEIU Medicaid Rally in Syracuse
Friday, March 22nd, 4:00 pm, 1199SEIU Medicaid Rally in Syracuse, 1199SEIU is hosting a rally to advocate for Medicaid funding in the NYS Budget and call on the Governor to stop her proposed cuts to Medicaid funding; this will be a large mobilization of healthcare workers and community allies. We will be marching from our Syracuse office (250 S. Clinton St.) to the front of the State Office Building in Syracuse, NY. Our march will begin at 4pm. We will have a bus departing from the parking lot of the Hannaford Plaza on Mohawk St. in Utica at 3:30pm on March 22nd and it will return to Utica by 7/7:30pm. Sign up here.
