Saturday, April 19th, 12:00-1:30 pm, “No Kings!” April 19th Rally. Fort Stanwix, 100 N. James St., Rome NY.  Co-hosted by the Oneida County Democratic Women's Club, Rome Democratic Committee, and Indivisible Mohawk Valley.  This is the 250th Anniversary of the start of the Revolutionary War (Lexington and Concord battles, April 19, 1775), and what better place than a fort that was pivotal in our victory over a tyrannical ruler? Let's tell Trump that there are No Kings in our country. This country belongs to "We the People."  There is parking across the street from the Fort Stanwix entrance with access from Dominick St and Black River Blvd. Additional parking on N. Saturday, April 19th, 11:00am-12:00pm, 250th Anniversary of the start of our American Revolution Rally, hosted by the NY21 Indivisible Group. Rally location: Sir William Johnson Park in downtown Johnstown at 123 West Main St. We say "Hands Off" many things that make our country great, including Freedom of Speech, the Rule of Law, our Constitution, and Democracy itself. We will also be encouraging people to support One Church Street, a local food pantry, as part of our day of action.

Friday, April 11th, 4:00-5:00pm, Rally on the Clinton Village Green. Hosted by the Kirkland Town Democratic Committee. Bring your Hands Off signs again if you like, or signs protesting the incomprehensible tariffs, or unelected Elon Musk’s actions, or the corruption and incompetence being revealed daily.  You may wish to choose your own adventure, er, topic, and bring signs in support of whatever threatened services of government you are most passionate about, like the Environmental Protection Administration, or NOAA, or the Department of Education, or Social Security, or Medicaid & Medicare, or libraries or check out all the best signs from the April 5th rallies on the internet.

Saturday, April 5th, 12:00pm, Hands Off! Utica Fights Back Rally at 4645 Commercial Drive in front of At Home (where Kmart used to be). This is a high visibility location on Saturday and perfect for those concerned about parking or who have mobility issues.  Park directly in front of the sidewalk in the parking lot, and then stand on the sidewalk with your sign.  REGISTER HERE. A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is our commitment to nonviolent action. Saturday, March 29th, 12:00 pm, Trans Rights Rally, Oneida Square Roundabout (near the statue), Utica, IMV joins with our coalition partner, Oneida County Pride Association, for a rally recognizing International Trans Day of Visibility.  Bring trans flags and signs that support trans rights (ex: Trans Rights are Human Rights) and inclusion.

Friday, March 14th, 4:00-5:00 pm, Rally in Support of Ukraine, Clinton Village Green, Sponsored by the Kirkland Democrats.  We encourage no more than 25 people to stand along the Village Green, and others to line up on the sidewalk across from the Green on East Park Row (There are public parking lots at both ends of the Village Green).  Bring signs or flags in support of Ukraine!

Monday, March 10th, 5-6 pm, Medicaid Monday Honk-n-Wave Rally, Burrstone Road, Utica.  We’ll line up along the stretch along Utica University (where there is ample parking). Join IMV and 1199 SEIU  to rally in support of Medicaid on Burrstone Road near the intersection with Champlin Ave. Why? Republicans are on the record in supporting $2 trillion in cuts to programs that everyday Americans need to survive so they can give $4.5 trillion in tax breaks to billionaires. Programs that are on the chopping block include Medicaid, which pays for the majority of births, nursing home residents, and healthcare for low income New Yorkers. Our local nursing homes and rural hospitals depend on Medicaid to keep their doors open. If the Republicans in Congress get their way, people will suffer or even die.  Sign up to attend HERE.

IMV is working with a broad local coalition to plan this event. We all march for different reasons, but we march for the same cause: to defend our rights and our future from the greedy billionaires about to take the reigns of government.  We are the 99% and this economy and the country belong to us not the greedy billionaires.  We all deserve affordable housing and health care, safe communities, quality education, Social Security, and the ability to plan our families when and how we want.

Come share your excitement for Harris/Walz and down ballot candidates and Prop 1 - the NYS Equal Rights Amendment.

Join us to let Brandon Williams know he doesn't stand for CNY or the issues that affect working families! We don't need tax cuts and abortion bans, we need investment in our communities!

 Sunday, June 23rd, 2:00-3:00 pm, Utica Reproductive Freedom March & Rally to mark the 2-year anniversary of the Dobb’s decision. SIGN UP HERE.  We will meet up at Oneida Square in Utica and march a few blocks along Genesee Street to Nurses Candlelight Park. Democratic Congressional Candidate Sarah Klee Hood will be among the speakers at the rally.   Following the event we will encourage everyone in attendance to go vote before Early Voting closes at 5pm and/or take a short list of 20-25 doors nearby and ask those Democratic voters to vote. Early voting closes at 5:00 pm, so they could go straight to the polls once they realize what is at stake in the 2024 election.

Friday, March 22nd, 4:00 pm, 1199SEIU Medicaid Rally in Syracuse, 1199SEIU is hosting a rally to advocate for Medicaid funding in the NYS Budget and call on the Governor to stop her proposed cuts to Medicaid funding; this will be a large mobilization of healthcare workers and community allies. We will be marching from our Syracuse office (250 S. Clinton St.) to the front of the State Office Building in Syracuse, NY. Our march will begin at 4pm. We will have a bus departing from the parking lot of the Hannaford Plaza on Mohawk St. in Utica at 3:30pm on March 22nd and it will return to Utica by 7/7:30pm.  Sign up here.

Monday, Oct. 2nd, 3:30-5:00 pm, Rep. Williams Puts Rome At Risk: Contingent Rally to Protest MAGA Republican Government Shutdown,  If Rep. Brandon Williams and his MAGA Republicans in the House cause the government to shutdown after Sept 30th, Indivisible Mohawk Valley will host a rally on Hill Road at Griffiss in Rome. Our friends, family, and neighbors working at Rome Labs and DFAS will be negatively affected by the shutdown. While Rep. Williams will continue to get a paycheck, that won't be the case for many in our area!  Park near Spressos at 160 Brooks Road and walk over to the sidewalk to the east side of Hill Road. Bring a sign and we'll have extras. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Saturday, July 29th, 12:00 pm, Oneida County Pride Association Queer Rights Rally to protest SCOTUS Decisions, Intersection of Genesee Street and Memorial Parkway in Utica.  Supporters and safety marshals are needed for a successful rally.  This event is allied with the national protest led by Queer Youth Assemble. 

Wednesday, May 24th, 5-6 pm,  Stop the MAGA Default Crisis - NY22 Rally,  Consumer Square, along Commercial Drive, New Hartford.  We will have signs and banners to get our message out.  Brandon Williams should not crash the economy.  No playing games with America’s credit and economy.  No cuts to veterans’ services and health care, Medicaid, education, or food for families.  There’s plenty of parking, and we will spread out along the grass. There’s a lot of traffic, so be careful and stay away from the road.  Part of a nationwide indivisible Week of Action. Monday, May 1st, 5:45 pm, Good Trouble Town Hall Rally, Bradley Elementary School, 33 Oxford Rd,  New Hartford.  (Town Hall starts at 6:30 pm).  Come early for the event and rally with IMV.  Bring signs about protecting Social Security and Medicare.  Remember we win the media and the public when we get our message out with our red cards, at our rally and in press statements rather than yelling during an indoor meeting.

Wednesday, April 26th, 12-1 pm, Brandon Williams: Move In Or Move Out Rally, 421 Broad Street, Utica.  This is where our sign on letter will be delivered, and we’ll have moving boxes and other supports to help Williams move into the district or move out of Congress.  Please come if you can get there even for a short time.  More details will be discussed at our IMV meeting the evening before.
