May Day Strong Rally Oneida Square, Utica

Thursday, May 1st, 5:00-6:30 pm, MAY DAY STRONG RALLY, Oneida Square, (near 1300 Genesee Street) Utica.  We are demanding a country that puts our families over their fortunes—public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, housing over homelessness. Musk, Trump and their fellow profiteers are trying to create a race to the bottom—on wages, on benefits, on dignity itself.  They want to erase labor rights, break our unions, and silence immigrant voices. May Day 2025 we are standing united. Bring donations for the Morrow Warming Center, signs about protecting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and the laws that protect us all–children and adults, immigrants and native born, working and retired, from the tyranny of greedy oligarchic dictators.  Near the end of the rally, we will walk a few blocks to DeSales Center for an indoor event celebrating community unity and honoring workers, immigrants, and all those who have fought for dignity, rights, and freedom.

Republicans are on the record in supporting $2 trillion in cuts to programs that everyday Americans need to survive so they can give $4.5 trillion in tax breaks to billionaires. Programs that are on the chopping block include Medicaid, which pays for the majority of births, nursing home residents, and healthcare for low income New Yorkers. Our local nursing homes and rural hospitals depend on Medicaid to keep their doors open. If the Republicans in Congress get their way, people will suffer or even die.  Sign up to attend HERE
