❌👑No Kings III: 3 Week Countdown!
Women's Day Rally in Rome
Tomorrow is International Women's Day and so the weekly rally in Rome, NY hosted by IMV and Concerned Citizens of Rome has a special theme of women's rights.
All are welcome to stand up against the authoritarian Trump regime this Saturday and every Saturday. Make your signs about stopping the SAVE Act, the importance of reproductive freedom, funding science research on women's health, universal health care, child care, and paid family leave. Bring signs in support of the girls and women who were trafficked by Epstein and other powerful men, and demand accountability!

❌👑No Kings Volunteers Needed!
We are just about three weeks away from the largest mass mobilization event in American history! We need your help.
1) Volunteer. We have three rallies, starting at 11:30 in the morning and going through to 4:30 pm. We need big teams of safety marshals at all three events. We need people at each event to serve as media spokespersons, videographers, photographers, and set up/clean up teams. Please review the volunteer form and sign up for the tasks and roles you will take on.
2) Recruit attendees. The main goal of No Kings 3 is to have more people show up on March 28 than we had show up for No Kings 1 in June (5 Million) or No Kings 2 in October (7 Million). Locally, we had nearly 6000 show up for our three rallies on October 18. Even though more people oppose Trump's authoritarianism now than in October, the cold winter weather works against us. So we need everyone to spread the word and ask friends and acquaintances to commit to showing up. Have a friend willing to volunteer with you? Share the volunteer link.

Support Jon Lipe for Assembly
Jon Lipe has been with IMV since the beginning in 2017, standing with us in the cold to protest Trump and Claudia Tenney and teaching us how to phonebank and knock doors. Now we can't wait to see him win his primary in June and then beat the Republican in the general election in November so that the 119th Assembly district can stay BLUE (Psst...It's the only one in our region that is!)
How can you help!
1) Sign up to walk with Jon and other Dems in Utica's St. Patrick's Day parade:
St. Patrick's Day Parade Sign Up Link-Jon Lipe
Saturday, March 14, 10 am (line up is a bit earlier)
This is a fun and positive community event.
2) Contribute to Jon's campaign--even $5 makes a huge difference!
Jon's first fundraising deadline is March 12. All donations are welcome, and donations from in the 119th Assembly District are matched up to 12-1. That means your $5 is worth $60 to Jon's campaign!
Here is the Act Blue link to make your donation:

Climate Crisis Working Group
Join IMV Members on March 25th in Albany for an EMERGENCY RALLY to DEFEND OUR CLIMATE LAW
Governor Hochul is threatening to weaken New York's landmark Climate Law through the state budget, which is due April 1st. This is the same Climate Law that so many of us here, and across the state, worked hard and successfully to have signed into law by Governor Cuomo in 2019. IMV Climate Crisis Working Group members will join a wide coalition of environmental groups to rally as the final budget negotiations are happening. Join us there to urge our lawmakers to stand firm: NO CLIMATE LAW ROLLBACKS in the BUDGET!
We can’t afford any more delays—New Yorkers need lower utility bills and real climate solutions. A more affordable, healthier, and climate-resilient New York is within reach, but only if we end our reliance on costly, polluting fossil fuels.
The final budget negotiations will be our last chance to make sure the Legislature and Governor Hochul hear us loud and clear! Register here and select bus transportation from Utica. If you have questions, email jgeiger777@gmail.com.

Sum Up and Inspiration
1. Keep petitioning! Candidates need your help.
2. Keep petitioning! Elections don't win themselves.
3. We really do need your help as we prepare for No Kings III on March 28.
We need people to put up posters all over the Mohawk Valley.
We need people to sign up to be safety marshals (even if it just means helping people cross the street) and attend the pre-event Zoom training.
We need people to take video, take photos, and provide media quotes.
Sign up here to volunteer for these or another role for No Kings 3.
Music is a powerful way that people can come together and build a moral movement in the face of injustice and oppression. We would love to have a faith community or song leader volunteer to host a premobilization event in a church in the days before No Kings and help people learn the new songs from the Singing Resistance Songbook. Imagine hundreds of people gathered together to pray for a peaceful No Kings Day, learn the songs together, and mobilize people to attend a No Kings 3 rally. Those events will happen in cities across the country in the week before March 28. Why not here?
Friends,
As Trump's unnecessary war against Iran continues to kill, and Republicans in Congress do nothing to stop it,
As billions of dollars that could feed children and provide health care are wasted on bombs,
As a vanity ballroom rises in our nation's capital and civil and voting rights are stripped down to the studs,
We are building something. A huge people powered movement.
And will gather a community across the Mohawk Valley and the nation on March 28 and say
NO to MAGA Authoritarianism.
And also, to each other, HOLD ON.
Hold on, hold on
My dear ones, here comes the dawn
No one let go of anyone's hand.
Do not be afraid and do not give up.
This democracy is ours and we are going to fight like hell to save it.
