Slate Cards, MiniVAN & Why We’re Knocking Now
Voter education slate cards are now available at the NY21 campaign office in Rome and the NY22 office in Utica. No matter where you’re canvassing in Oneida County, they’re a handy way to help voters with candidate information, early voting dates, and what they’ll see on the ballot.
Experienced canvassers can also help new volunteers learn to use MiniVAN, the app we use while knocking doors. If you’re planning to canvass, download the free MiniVAN app to your phone before your shift.
Right now, canvassing is focused on Voter ID — talking with voters and learning which Democratic candidates they are likely to support. That information becomes especially important during Get Out the Vote (GOTV), when campaigns focus their time and resources on helping identified supporters vote during Early Voting (Oct. 24-Nov. 1) and on Election Day (Nov. 3)

Join the NYS Democrats Official Rome Office Opening Party
Now that staff are hired to keep the office open and the volunteers busy with turfs and tasks, the NYS Democrats Rome Campaign Office is celebrating its official opening. Show up and sign up to be part of the effort to turn out voters in the NY21 (Blake Gendebien) parts of Oneida County–including where Mandi Drake, Jon Lipe, Mike Brown, and Sheriff Rob Maciol are also on the ballot.

Climate Crisis Working Group
Sign a Petition to Make Polluters Pay!
The Trump Administration, Big Oil, and a group of Republican Attorneys General just convinced a federal judge to strike down New York’s Climate Superfund program that would have raised $75 billion over 25 years from fossil fuel companies to pay for climate damages.
Sign this petition calling on NY’s Attorney General Letitia James to immediately appeal this decision and defend NY State’s right to hold big polluters accountable. Otherwise, as NY State Senator Liz Krueger stated, “Guess what? If we don’t win, there’s about $75 billion of planned climate resilience funding that we, the taxpayers of New York, will have to pay instead of the major fossil fuel polluters who caused this damage.”

Last night was Indivisible’s national General Election kickoff call. There are now nine weeks left to do everything we can possibly do–as individuals and as a local Indivisible group–to help Democratic candidates defeat Republicans. The goal is not to squeak by with holding seats in Congress, and picking up just enough to gain a majority in the House or maybe even the Senate, but to give Trump and his cult a resounding defeat that tells its enablers and apologists and the public as a whole that its inevitably is a lie and its abuse of the American public–economically, legally, and politically is at an end.
