Rally! Train! Take Action!
Join Us for Pro-Democracy Rallies!
Thanks to everyone who has been attending the weekly IMV rally on Broad Street in Utica! That event continues Thursday, 4-5 pm, and you are always welcome to join and bring friends and family. There are usually extra signs available or bring your most raging concern on a sign. It's a great way to connect with IMV friends and build our movement.
There's also a rally today 4-5 pm in Clinton on the village green hosted by the Kirkland Town Democrats. No shortage of Trump/MAGA Republican outrages. Or bring signs in support of immigrants, Texas Democrats who are fighting racist gerrymandering, frontline VA workers, whose collective bargaining rights were just terminated by Donald Trump, and truth and transparency about economic data.
Rally, Organize & Don't Cooperate with Authoritarianism
What is Strategic Non-Cooperation?
Find Out With #OneMillionRising
Nearly 40,000 people joined Wednesday evening to continue building toward training one million people in strategic non-cooperation. Two-thirds of the way through this series, we are seeing so much excitement for this form of resistance on these calls and in the wider world (One Million Rising got a mention in the New York Times and was trending on Bluesky on Wednesday).
Between today and the August 13 call is crunch time. It's time tohost a Community Resistance Gathering to spread the word about strategic non-cooperation. It’s simple. It’s fun. It’s low pressure. And, it’s the way we build the power we need to defeat Trump’s authoritarian breakthrough.

You Made Some Good Necessary Trouble
What an amazing turnout for the #GoodTroubleLivesOn rally in Utica last night! We had more than 225 in attendance, and some of the best, most inspiring and motivating speakers we've ever had an IMV rally in more than 8 years!
One Million Rising Training is Launched!

Let's Make Some Good Trouble, Necessary Trouble
"Good Trouble Lives On" Rally Thursday
From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it.
That's why we're making “Good Trouble” on Thursday, July 17th in memory and honor of Rep. John Lewis who died 5 years ago on this day. We will have speakers (Rev. Sharon Baugh and Mrs. Freddie Hamilton!), songs, and chants, and call attention to the power of the people to fight peacefully for civil rights, democracy, and social justice for everyone in this country.
STOP THE CUTS! Rally Tomorrow in Utica (July 3)
Urgent STOP THE CUTS Rally Tomorrow
Thanks to everyone who came out for the special Thursday rally last week focused on how the Trump admninstation is disappearing people. Great crowd and speakers and we had local earned media coverage so our message got out to the public.
This week: Our focus is the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad budget bill passed by Senate Republicans and now sent on to the House. Again, we want the public to realize just how bad this bill is for them--for us--whether we rely on the ACA exchange for health insurance, have family members on Medicaid, use SNAP, or need to access health care in rural communitiies.
"STOP Disappearing People in America"
The Pop Up rally theme this week was The Disappeared in America. There were over 50 people in front of the Federal Building. WKTV was there and did an interview. Stay tuned for the broadcast. The Pop Ups will continue every Thursday at 4 pm at the Federal Building in Utica, 10 Broad Street. We have lots of signs, and new people join every week. Your presence will make a difference. We get lots of honks and the connections are very supportive. With vacations and holidays you can keep us going.
You blew us away, Mohawk Valley #NoKings Protesters!
"Nope, No Kings. Not in America."
Along with more than five million protesting patriots across America, IMV had an amazing day on Saturday for #NoKingsDay! We took to streets and sidewalks and parks and spread a message of defiance against authoritarianism. We celebrated the true values of America--a 250 year old constitutional republic with checks and balances on executive power. We built energy and community for a sustained movement to save democracy. As many of you noted in your hundreds of social media posts, the air was electric with the energy of the people standing up to the wanna be dictator in Washington.
No Kings Rallies Tomorrow!
More Than 2000 Events Across the Country.
Join Us Tomorrow in Utica, Rome, or Herkimer
“The power of the people is much stronger than the people in power.”― Wael Ghonim
Tomorrow's mass mobilization is designed to draw attention away from Trump's birthday parade in DC and call attention to the majority of the people in this country who disapprove of the way he is acting and the direction he is taking the country.
The goal of our rallies is to remind us of our own power. While Trump is testing the limits of his power every day, the full consolidation of his power over our institutions, our economy, and the American people is not yet a done deal. Because...
"A king is only a king if we bow down."
June 14 NO KINGS Just One Week Away!
NO KINGS June 14: Help Us Spread the Word
"In America the Law is King. For as in absolute governments the King is Law, so in free countries the Law ought to be King; and there ought to be no other."
Thomas Paine, Common Sense, 1776.
We're going to celebrate Flag Day 2025 in 1600 (!) places across the country, draw attention away from Trump's Dear Leader birthday parade, and make clear that Americans everywhere are not happy with the wannabe dictator in the White House.
No Bad Budget Bill and NO KINGS!
Weekly Rallies: Thursdays 4-5 pm in Utica
Thanks to the 40+ people who turned out for our pop up rally on Memorial Day in Utica! One veteran wore a t-shirt that said " All gave some. Some gave all. One had bone spurs." Other signs called attention to the Republican attack on Medicaid, the Trump family corruption, the horrible Trump budget and the lawlessness of this administration.
The event was such a success that we are making it a weekly rally! Join us as often as you can and invite your friends.
Who Will You Bring to Our No Kings Rally?
No Kings mass demonstrations are planned for hundreds, nearing a thousand, sites around the country. Everywhere except Washington, DC, where a wannabe dictator will be throwing himself a $45M "Dear Leader" style military parade for his own birthday (now THAT is fraud, waste, and abuse!).
We can see the Republicans in Congress about to hand Trump all the power he wants--to decimate Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, steal our personal data, our federal infrastucture, our civil rights, constitutionally guaranteed due process, and ultimately to remove any checks by the courts to enforce rulings that challenge him.
It stops with us. Mark your calendar now. Register for No Kings, and recruit everyone you know to join you.

You Rocked #MayDayStrong

IMV Meeting Sunday, May Day Rally Thursday
What's Next? May Day Strong!
Historically, May Day celebrates the progress of working people and honors those who fought for it, but as the MAGA movement rolls back workers’ rights and strips America down for profit, we’re joining a vast coalition of organizations to turn May 1 into a nationwide day of mobilization: May Day Strong. We are working in alliance with Citizen Action, CNY on May 1st. We will host a rally (co-hosted by Citizen Action) at Oneida Square at 5:00. Toward the end of the rally we will march on the sidewalk a couple blocks to where Citizen Action is hosting a Celebration of community unity and worker rights. So we invite everyone to join the celebration!

"No Kings" Rally in Rome April 19th
1400+ People Join Our Utica, New Hartford, & Herkimer Hands Off! Rallies
Thank you for turning out in such huge numbers on Saturday for our April 5th "Hands Off!" Rallies in the Mohawk Valley! As you've probably heard, what was planned as a big tent, first of this administration, mass mobilziation event across the country, was even bigger than imagined. At most of the 1300+ rallies around the country, people came out at 5X to 8X the number officially registered for their local events. And here in the Mohawk Valley, In spite of very cold temperatures and heavy rain, we also saw higher numbers than expected--at all three of our sites.
From Ezra Levin, Co-Executive Director, Indivisible:
“When we win, people will talk about Hands Off! as the turning point in the fight against the American fascist movement. Courage is contagious, y’all. And we are going to win.”
Will You Stand Up for Democracy Tomorrow?
Hands Off! April 5th (Noon-1:30 pm)
Three IMV Rallies: All the Details You Need
IMV is host to three Mohawk Valley rallies. All three are set for April 5th, 12pm-1:30pm rain or shine. Expect rain. Commit to showing up to save democracy from the Trump-Musk-Republican coup no matter the weather. Cory Booker fasted from food and water for days so he could last 25 hours speaking on Senate floor. We can certainly wear hooded raincoats or bring an umbrella to an outdoor event for 1.5 hours!
